What is a Barracuda Bowl?
A barracuda bowl is a “shark tank” like pitch competition that will usually have 3-5 startups competing against each other using the following format:
- The “Barracuda Bowl” puts the spotlight on health tech startups, which will each have 5 mins to pitch their startup to an esteemed panel of “barracudas”– veteran investors, entrepreneurs, and judges.
- After providing an overview of their business, the startups will be immersed into the Barracuda Bowl where the panel of judges will be given an additional 5 mins to interrogate them and poke holes in their business plans.
- After all startups have pitched, they will all assemble on stage and the audience will have an opportunity to be the barracudas and unleash their questions on them for 5-10mins, while the judges deliberate on the winning team.
- At the end of the Q&A session with the audience, the judges will decide which startup won the battle of the barracuda bowland which ones got chewed to pieces
